Welcome to the website of Lorne Community Hospital.
I trust that you find this website a helpful tour of an outstanding community-based service dedicated to promoting wellness, healing sickness, and providing assistance to ageing with dignity and comfort.
Lorne is one of the world’s great coastal villages, for both its setting, its amenity, and its energetic community, qualities it shares with Wye River, Fairhaven and Aireys Inlet. These coastal villages, together with Dean’s Marsh inland, form the extended community that is served by Lorne Community Hospital.
The historic link between the Hospital and the community it serves, especially the Lorne township, justifies and reinforces the inclusion of the word Community in the hospital’s name, and the current Board of Management values this word as a link with the past and a guidepost to the future.
A continuing partnership between the Hospital and its community will ensure that Lorne Hospital is sustainable as a Small Rural Health Service valued by all of its stakeholders.
The Board of Management of Lorne Community Hospital provides the hospital executive with a very talented, broadly-based human resource, most of whom are ‘local’, and all of whom are committed to ensuring that residents and visitors to our unique part of the world can access a first-class health service. This honorary Board, the very professional executive team led by our CEO Kate Gillan, and especially the dedicated group of clinicians and carers who operate at the coal-face, combine to make Lorne Community Hospital an outstanding facility.
Enjoy reading about us and what we do to serve you.
